Failure to Report Tickets Provided for Firefighters' Families
Suspended from Duty and Under Police Investigation
An active firefighter is under police investigation for allegedly receiving 80 tickets to singer Psy's "Hmphpeok Show" from the concert planning agency. The firefighter's department has suspended him from duty and reported him to the police.
The Anti-Corruption and Economic Crime Investigation Unit of the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 21st that it is investigating Fire Captain A from the Incheon Seobu Fire Station, who has been reported for violating the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act.
Fire Captain A is suspected of having received 80 admission tickets to the "Psy Hmphpeok Show," which was held in June at Incheon Asiad Stadium in Seo-gu, Incheon, from the concert planning agency. The agency explained that the tickets were provided under the pretext of "inviting families of firefighters," but it has been reported that Fire Captain A did not separately report this to the head of the institution.
The Incheon Fire Headquarters became aware of possible violations of the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act by Fire Captain A last month, subsequently suspending him from duty and filing a report with the police. A police official stated, "It is true that a complaint has been filed and an investigation is currently underway," adding, "We plan to investigate the specific facts of the case."
Meanwhile, Psy's signature summer concert, "Hmphpeok Show SUMMERSWAG 2025," was held on June 28 and 29 at the main stadium of Incheon Asiad Stadium. This year's tour began in Incheon and will continue through Uijeongbu, Daejeon, Gwacheon, Sokcho, Suwon, Daegu, and Busan, culminating at Chosun University Sports Complex in Gwangju on August 24.
