Maggie Kang, Director of "Kedeheon," Appears on "You Quiz on the Block"

First In-Person Meeting Scheduled with Ahn Hyoseop, Voice of Jinwoo

Maggie Kang, the director of the Netflix animated film "K-Pop Demon Hunters" ("Kedeheon"), appeared on the tvN variety show "You Quiz on the Block."

According to the film industry on August 21, Director Kang completed filming for "You Quiz on the Block," hosted by Yoo Jaeseok and Jo Seho, the previous day. It is reported that she discussed behind-the-scenes stories from the production of "Kedeheon," her motivation for directing, and her affection for Korean culture. The episode is scheduled to air on the 27th.


On the same day, she also appeared on Arirang TV's talk show "K-Pop: The Next Chapter" with President Lee Jaemyung, where she introduced the background of incorporating Korean culture into animation.


The following day, she paid a courtesy visit to Yoo Hongjun, Director of the National Museum of Korea, and toured the exhibition halls and museum shop. After receiving a "magpie and tiger badge" and a fan as gifts from Director Yoo, Kang stated, "I think I will continue to work on projects that spotlight Korean culture in the future."

She is also scheduled to meet actor Ahn Hyoseop, who voiced Jinwoo, the leader of the boy group "Sajaboys" in "Kedeheon," for the first time in person. During production, Ahn communicated with Director Kang online and recorded his lines in Korea. Their first meeting will be released later through Netflix's own content.


After completing her visit to Korea, Director Kang will depart and return next month to attend the "Global Media Conference."


Director Kang, a Korean-Canadian, was born in Seoul and immigrated to Toronto, Canada with her family at the age of five. She majored in animation at Sheridan College in Canada and worked as a story artist at DreamWorks, Blue Sky, Warner Bros., and Illumination. "Kedeheon" is her first feature-length directorial work.
