Shin Junghoon, a Democratic Party of Korea lawmaker representing Naju and Hwasun in South Jeolla Province and the Chairman of the National Assembly’s Public Administration and Security Committee, stated on the 21st, “I welcome the final approval of the preliminary feasibility study for the Hwasun abandoned mine area economic development project.”

He also added, “During the implementation process, I will do my utmost to promptly secure national funding and address other pending issues so that the hopes and aspirations of local residents can be fully realized without setbacks. I will ensure that Hwasun’s future growth engine takes firm root and will carefully support the revitalization of the local economy and balanced national development.”
