Producer Cho Sunghyun: "JMS Aims to Train '300 Gideons'... Followers Exist in Both Military and Police"

Producer Cho Sunghyun of "I Am a Survivor":
"Field-Grade Officer Who Left JMS Would Have Chosen the Messiah Over the Nation"
"There Are No Political Sides When It Comes to Cults"

Producer Cho Sunghyun has revealed that there are groups within both the police and the military dedicated to protecting Jung Myungseok, the leader of the Christian Gospel Mission (commonly known as JMS), as well as the existence of the JMS Sasa Department, an organization allegedly formed to cover up Jung's sexual assaults.

Cho, who directed the recently released Netflix documentary "I Am a Survivor," appeared on SBS Radio's "Park Jaehong's Hanpansub" on the 19th and stated, "Jung Myungseok himself claimed that around 150 active police officers are part of the Sasa Department. While we have not yet identified how high-ranking these individuals are, their connections continue to persist. There is even a group chat room where they communicate," he said.

Cho also asserted that the Sasa Department, cultivated by JMS, exists within the military as well. He explained, "The name for the organization that refers to JMS believers who are also soldiers changes slightly, but they are called 'Gideon.' This refers to 'Gideon's 300 warriors,' and their goal is to gather 300 warriors like Gideon to protect God (Jung Myungseok)," he said.

Cho also shared the case of a field-grade officer who recently left JMS. "He was a field-grade officer stationed in Yongsan," Cho said. "When I spoke with him, I asked, 'If you had to choose between protecting the nation or God, whom would you have chosen?' He told me that, as a believer, he would have undoubtedly chosen to protect the Messiah."

He continued, "So far, Gideon has not been involved in any particular activities. However, as we saw last December, if they were to make up their minds, it's hard to predict what might happen in any given situation. This is a very dangerous issue, and I can't help but be deeply concerned," he emphasized.

Cho pointed out that JMS has deeply infiltrated public authorities, calling the situation alarming. "Over the past four years, I have seen firsthand that when it comes to cults, there is no left or right," he said. "A former Minister of Gender Equality and Family, who is also a lawyer, was listed as a member of the legal defense team for a cult leader who routinely assaulted female followers. A senior member of Minbyun and a final candidate for the first head of the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials also defended JMS, Agadongsan, and other groups commonly referred to as cults or suspected of being cults."

He added, "I have also confirmed through multiple sources that a former Prime Minister and a former Speaker of the National Assembly visited Wolmyeongdong (the JMS headquarters) to have an audience with Jung Myungseok. I can't help but wonder why this country is being so swayed by cults. This is the country where our children must live, and if things continue this way, I truly fear for the future," he said.
