Final Decision to Be Made After Collecting Opinions by September 5
Jung-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Kim Gilseong) is accepting residents' opinions until September 5 regarding the designation of an honorary road name, "Isunsin-gil," for the section connecting Euljiro 3-ga Station to Namsangol Hanok Village along Chungmuro and Toegye-ro 34-gil.
The honorary road name "Isunsin-gil" will be an additional designation on top of the legal road name, and will be valid for five years from the date of assignment. In a preference survey conducted from June 18 to July 2, "Isunsin-gil" ranked first, receiving 41% of all responses. After collecting residents' opinions, Jung-gu plans to finalize the honorary road name through a review by the Address Information Committee in September.
Honorary road name signs and autonomous building number plates featuring the Isunsin brand BI will be installed at the start and end points of the designated "Isunsin-gil" section. In addition, a themed map showing all four honorary road sections in Jung-gu, including "Isunsin-gil," will be produced and made available through Smart Seoul Map.

As the birthplace of Admiral Yi Sun-sin, Jung-gu announced its future vision, "The Great Beginning of Admiral Yi Sun-sin, Once Again in Jung-gu," on April 28 to mark the 480th anniversary of his birth, and has been working to establish a city brand. The honorary road naming is an important project that, along with the creation of a commemorative space at his birthplace, will allow both locals and foreigners to encounter Admiral Yi Sun-sin in the Chungmuro area.
Kim Gilseong, Mayor of Jung-gu, stated, "Honorary road names serve as symbols that highlight the value of the region's history and culture," adding, "We will create a meaningful road together with residents by broadly reflecting their opinions."
