On August 19, Suncheon City announced that it has secured a budget of 1.066 billion KRW through this year's supplementary budget to expand support for the "Suncheon-style Childcare Project."

With this budget, the city plans to meticulously and carefully enhance its childcare infrastructure, aiming to reduce the burden on parents and create a stable childcare environment.

First, a new program will be introduced to provide 20% of the homeroom teacher salary for preschool classes at 36 daycare centers that receive salary support.

In addition, the city will expand salary support for drivers at daycare centers in rural and other essential areas from the current three centers to six centers, providing 500,000 KRW per month to each center.

The financial burden on parents of infants and young children living in Suncheon City and using local daycare centers will also be reduced. The necessary daycare expenses, which were previously supported once a year at 100,000 KRW, will now be provided an additional time in the second half of the year, increasing the support to twice a year.

Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu of Suncheon stated, "This expanded support for salaries and operating expenses will help address blind spots in childcare and improve the parenting environment," adding, "We will continue to strengthen support measures to make Suncheon a city where it is easy to have and raise children."
