Bridge Repairs, School Zone Renovations, and Youth Culture Center Improvements
Lee Gwonjae: "Full Commitment to Securing Practical National and Provincial Funding"
On August 19, Osan City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it had secured 1 billion KRW in special grants from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety during the first half of this year.
The special grants are funds provided by the central government to local governments when there are specific financial needs. They are mainly used for disaster recovery, addressing urgent issues, and supporting national policy tasks.
The secured budget will be allocated to three projects: ▲Repair and reinforcement of Tapdong Bridge and Eungye Bridge (200 million KRW), ▲Renovation of protective fences and sidewalk blocks in the school zone of Munsi Elementary School (300 million KRW), and ▲Facility improvements at the Youth Culture Center (500 million KRW).
The city plans to use the secured budget to enhance safety by resurfacing and repairing structures on Tapdong Bridge and Eungye Bridge, which see frequent pedestrian traffic. In the school zone of Munsi Elementary School, old protective fences and damaged sidewalk blocks will be renovated to improve the walking environment for students.
Efforts will also be made to improve youth spaces. Through the Youth Culture Center improvement project, the city will reinforce aging facilities and enhance the environment, supporting young people so they can engage in various activities in a pleasant space.
Lee Gwonjae, Mayor of Osan, stated, "We will continue to make every effort to secure national and provincial funds for projects that citizens can truly feel in their daily lives."
