Exhibition at MMCA Deoksugung Until November 9
"Continuing Social Contributions Through Culture and the Arts as a Liberation Baby Company"
Noroo Paint announced on the 19th that it will sponsor the special exhibition "Nostalgia, Longing for Hometown," commemorating the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day, held at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) in celebration of the company's 80th anniversary.
This exhibition is a large-scale project that sheds light on the pain and recovery of Korea's modern and contemporary history, as well as the collective sentiment of "hometown," through art. It will be held at the MMCA Deoksugung until November 9. Focusing on four themes-living in a foreign land, love for one's hometown, loss of hometown, and longing for hometown-the exhibition sensibly explores the wounds of displaced people. A total of over 200 works, including paintings, drawings, and archives by 85 masters of Korean modern and contemporary art such as Kim Whanki, Park Sookeun, and Lee Ungno, will be on display.

Founded in 1945 at the time of Korea's liberation, Noroo Paint is known as a "liberation baby company" and has contributed to Korea's industrialization with its pioneering development of ink, as well as precision chemical technologies in paints and coatings. More recently, as part of its ESG management, the company has continued to support cultural and artistic initiatives and social contribution through color design. Its participation in collaborations with the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, Frieze Seoul, and Milan Design Week, among other domestic and international art projects, is in line with these efforts.
A Noroo Paint representative stated, "We are honored to join the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in this meaningful exhibition that commemorates the significance of Liberation Day. As a 'liberation baby company' celebrating our 80th anniversary, we will continue to develop products and technologies that contribute to people's lives and pursue social contribution activities through culture and the arts."
