Samsung's Jun Young-hyun and Roh Tae-moon Each Receive About 1.2 Billion Won in First-Half Compensation; Average Employee Salary at 60 Million Won

It has been revealed that Jun Young-hyun, Vice Chairman and Head of the Device Solutions (DS) Division at Samsung Electronics, and Roh Tae-moon, Acting Head of the Device eXperience (DX) Division and President, each received compensation in the 1.1 billion won range for the first half of this year.


According to the semi-annual report disclosed by Samsung Electronics on August 14, Vice Chairman Jun Young-hyun received a total of 1.19 billion won, including a salary of 897 million won, a bonus of 256 million won, and other employment income of 37 million won. President Roh Tae-moon received a total of 1.195 billion won, consisting of a salary of 809 million won, a bonus of 351 million won, and other employment income of 35 million won.


Former Vice Chairman Han Jong-hee, who passed away in March, received a total of 13.47 billion won, which included 8.558 billion won in retirement income, 465 million won in salary, 4.353 billion won in bonuses, and 30 million won in other employment income.


Mauro Porcini, who was recruited as the Chief Design Officer (CDO) of the DX Division in April this year, received 3.473 billion won, making him the second highest recipient after former Vice Chairman Han.


Other top earners included Jung Jae-wook, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display (VD) Business Division (2.838 billion won), Jang Woo-seung, Advisor (2.793 billion won), and Lee Hae-chang, Executive Vice President of the System LSI Business Division (2.097 billion won).


In the first half of this year, Samsung Electronics had a total of 129,524 employees, and the average salary per employee was 60 million won. Chairman Lee Jae-yong has continued to manage the company without compensation since 2017.
