The Presidential National Policy Planning Committee, which laid out the blueprint for the Lee Jaemyung administration's governance, has officially concluded its two-month term of activities.
On August 14, at the committee's dissolution ceremony held at the Changseong-dong annex of the Government Complex Seoul, Lee Hanju, Chairperson of the National Policy Planning Committee, stated in his opening remarks, "The national governance plans you have developed will continue to be maintained, managed, and implemented in various places. While there may be some modifications, the overall direction will remain unchanged."
Chairperson Lee added, "We have created a blueprint for the next five years. When building a house based on a blueprint, there may be minor deviations or misalignments, but the framework remains intact."
He further emphasized, "The national policy tasks you have developed-creating a nation where the people are the true owners and where the happiness of the people is paramount, as enshrined in the Constitution-will be realized under this administration."
He also said, "I hope this administration will become a truly vibrant nation, living up to Articles 1 through 10 of the Constitution. I wish for a country where human rights and the fundamental rights of the people are clearly established, and where everyone can achieve happiness."
In particular, he stressed, "I hope the President's approval rating will remain as it is now. Although we started at 49.4%, I hope that by the end, it will surpass 50%, even if only slightly. I hope the work you have done will lead to half-success together with the President, and ultimately to the realization of a ten-year dream through the re-election of the administration."
The National Policy Planning Committee, launched on June 14 of this year, selected 123 national policy tasks to be accomplished during President Lee's five-year term. The committee unveiled these tasks at a 'National Briefing Session' held at the Blue House State Guest House the previous day, after completing its 60-day activity period.
