[Tomorrow's Weather] Torrential Rains in the Central Region, Scorching Heat in the South

On Thursday, the 14th, the central region is expected to experience very heavy rainfall accompanied by gusty winds, thunder, and lightning.

The central region will be mostly cloudy, while the southern region and Jeju Island will see partly to mostly cloudy skies at times.

Over the two days through the 14th, the expected precipitation is as follows: 50 to 150 mm (with some areas exceeding 200 mm) in Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi Province, and the five West Sea islands; 30 to 100 mm (with some inland areas in central and northern Gangwon Province exceeding 150 mm) in the inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon Province; 10 to 40 mm along the northern coast of Gangwon; and 5 to 20 mm along the central and southern coasts of Gangwon.

In northern Chungcheongnam-do and central and northern Chungcheongbuk-do, 30 to 80 mm of rain is forecast (with some areas in northern Chungcheongnam-do exceeding 100 mm). Daejeon, Sejong, southern Chungcheongnam-do, southern Chungcheongbuk-do, eastern inland Jeollabuk-do, Gwangju, Jeollanam-do, Daegu, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Ulsan, and inland Gyeongsangnam-do are expected to receive 5 to 40 mm of rain.

Gwangju, inland Jeollanam-do, inland Jeollabuk-do, inland Gyeongsangnam-do, Daegu, and inland Gyeongsangbuk-do are expected to receive 5 to 40 mm of showers, while the mountainous areas of Jeju Island are forecast to receive 5 to 20 mm of showers.

In the Seoul metropolitan area, Gangwon Province, and the Chungcheong region, heavy rain of around 30 mm per hour is expected until the morning of the 14th, so caution is advised to prevent safety accidents.

While temperatures will drop somewhat during the rain, most areas nationwide will continue to experience heat, with the maximum perceived temperature remaining above 31 degrees Celsius for the time being.

Morning lows are forecast to range from 22 to 26 degrees Celsius, and daytime highs from 28 to 34 degrees Celsius.

Fine dust concentrations are expected to remain at a 'good' level across all regions, due to atmospheric diffusion and the effects of precipitation.

Wave heights are expected to be 0.5 to 1.0 meters in the East Sea and South Sea coastal waters, and 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the West Sea coastal waters. In the offshore waters (within approximately 200 km from the coastline), wave heights are forecast to be 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the East Sea, West Sea, and South Sea.
