'K-Pop Demon Hunters' tells the story of Huntrix, a girl group who are both K-pop idols and demon hunters, as they battle evil spirits. The film was co-directed by Maggie Kang, a Korean-Canadian, and Chris Appelhans, an American. Released on June 20, it has steadily gained popularity, leading to speculation that it may soon claim the top spot among Netflix's all-time most successful movies. Over the past four weeks, 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' has averaged more than 26 million weekly views.

The film's popularity is also reflected in its original soundtrack (OST). In particular, the track 'Golden' topped the UK's Official Singles Chart 'Top 100' on August 1, and then reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 on August 11.
