The Museum Academy is a capacity-building program designed for professional staff at museums and art museums nationwide. In its inaugural year last year, 191 curatorial staff from 37 institutions under 17 government ministries participated.

This year, the program expanded its eligibility to include public museums and art museums. In the first half of the year, about 1,484 people from 95 institutions participated in the "General Course" for prospective staff, the third and fourth sessions of the "Specialized Course," and the "Field-Specific Courses" covering exhibition acoustics, artificial intelligence, and other topics.

In the second half of the year, the academy will offer the fourth and fifth sessions of the Specialized Course, along with a variety of field-specific courses. The curriculum is structured to match the unique characteristics of museum work and includes: a "General Course" for those aspiring to work in museums; a "Specialized Course" tailored to the career stages of current professionals; "Field-Specific Courses" addressing timely and advanced practical skills; and a "Research Course" aimed at strengthening instructor capabilities.

Applications for the fifth session of the Specialized Course (basic, advanced, and planning tracks) can be submitted on the "National Museum of Korea Museum Academy" website starting at 10:00 a.m. on August 18.
