New AI-Based Program and Korea-Japan Collaboration Session Introduced

The social value (SV) platform 'SOVAC 2025' will expand participation from future generations and the global community to discuss solutions to social issues and sustainable growth.

The SOVAC Secretariat announced on August 12 that SOVAC 2025 will be held under the theme "Designing a Sustainable Future" for two days starting August 25 at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul. The event will feature participation from over 180 partner organizations, including social enterprises, social ventures, and non-profit organizations.

SOVAC Expands to Future Generations and Global Community... Joining Forces to Solve Social Issues

SOVAC, first proposed by SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won and launched in 2019, serves as a platform for public, private, and civic exchange to explore ways to create social value. Since last year, SOVAC has co-hosted the "Korea Social Value Festa" with the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

This year, there will be 14 lectures and discussion sessions on topics such as senior independence in an aging society, co-prosperity for youth and local communities, and the revitalization of social finance. A new "SOVAC Flagship Session" will be introduced, featuring leaders from the social value ecosystem and government officials.

To increase participation from future generations, the "SKT FLY AI X SOVAC Challenger" program will be introduced for the first time. Sixty-six university students will propose solutions to social issues such as the climate crisis, aging population, and employment for people with disabilities using artificial intelligence (AI). There will also be a global session to discuss collaboration with Japanese social enterprise and impact investment stakeholders.

Additionally, the event will include a charity bazaar with participation from over 50 social enterprises, a donation campaign through the "Kakaogachigachi" platform, and exhibition and promotional booths showcasing the social issue-solving activities of more than 110 companies and organizations.

A SOVAC representative stated, "SOVAC will continue to grow and evolve as a festival where a diverse range of stakeholders dedicated to spreading social value and solving social issues come together to communicate and collaborate."
