The meeting proceeded in the following order: introduction of participants, opening remarks, tax administration promotion, and open discussion. The Sincere Taxpayer Support Bureau of the Daegu Regional Tax Office gave a presentation on "The Direction of National Tax Administration and Tax Support for 2025," introducing measures to expand taxpayer convenience and support. During the subsequent communication session, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on local economic issues, national tax administration, and tasks for improving the tax system.

Chairman Yoon Jaeho emphasized, "Amid growing uncertainties such as the US-China tariff war, the burden on businesses is increasing," and stressed, "It is essential for the government to provide research infrastructure support and balanced development strategies so that Gumi can emerge as a research and development hub."

He proposed "differentiated application of corporate, income, and inheritance taxes for non-metropolitan regions" to ease the tax burden gap between the capital area and other regions, and also requested the establishment of a 'Gumi Regional Headquarters' for the Bank of Korea, following the closure of its Gumi branch in 2007.

Chair Im Ija stated, "With uncertainties in the business environment due to tariff negotiations, tax reforms, commercial law amendments, and the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, it is difficult for companies to predict the future." She added, "The corporate tax rate should be shifted from an increase to a decrease, and the threshold for major shareholders subject to capital gains tax on stock transfers should be relaxed to 10 billion won."

She also emphasized the urgent need to lower the credit card payment fees for national taxes, highlighting the necessity of reducing the tax burden.

Commissioner Han Kyungsun said, "This meeting was a valuable opportunity to hear directly from the field," and pledged, "We will contribute to creating a business-friendly environment by actively supporting tax administration for business revitalization and expanding tax consulting for business succession."

This meeting was significant in that it brought together local businesspeople, tax authorities, and the National Assembly to discuss economic, tax, and balanced development policies.

In particular, proposals such as regionally differentiated corporate taxes and the establishment of a Bank of Korea Gumi Regional Headquarters are expected to serve as catalysts for discussions on expanding regional financial and industrial infrastructure and strengthening the competitiveness of non-metropolitan areas in the future.
