Hanwha Lifeplus International Crown Participation
Opens October 23 at New Korea CC in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province
Ko Jin-young and Choi Hye-jin Also Selected for Korean Team, Aim for Victory
The tournament organizing committee finalized the 32 players from eight countries based on the world rankings announced on August 5 (local time), immediately after the season's final major, the AIG Women's Open. Representing Korea are Kim Hyojoo (world ranking 8th), Yoo Hae-ran (9th), Ko Jin-young (16th), and Choi Hye-jin (23rd). These four are the highest-ranked Korean players.
Japan has selected three out of four players who are major champions. Ayaka Furue, last year's Evian Championship winner, Mao Saigo, who won this year's Chevron Championship, and Miu Yamashita, who captured the AIG Women's Open, have joined the team. The remaining spot goes to Rio Takeda, who is competing with Yamashita for the Rookie of the Year title.
Australia's team also includes two major champions: Lee Minjee, winner of the KPMG Women's PGA Championship, and Grace Kim, who staged a dramatic comeback victory at the Evian Championship. The United States will be represented by Nelly Korda, Angel Yin, Lauren Coughlin, and Lilia Vu. Thailand, led by new world number one Atthaya Thitikul, will feature Ariya Jutanugarn, Patty Tavatanakit, and Chanettee Wannasaen.
A newly established World Team for this tournament consists of Lydia Ko (New Zealand), Charley Hull (England), Brooke Henderson (Canada), and Hsu Wei-ling (Taiwan). The World Team brings together four outstanding players from countries unable to field a full four-player squad based on world rankings. This year's Hanwha Lifeplus International Crown will be held from October 23 to 26 at New Korea Country Club in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.
