Management Evaluation Soars from 25th to 3rd Place
in First Year as Urban Corporation
Uijeongbu Urban Corporation in Gyeonggi Province (President Kim Yongseok) was selected as an excellent institution ('B' grade) after ranking third overall among 28 city and county urban corporations nationwide in the '2025 Local Public Enterprise Management Evaluation' (based on 2024 performance) organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. This marks a significant improvement from last year, when the corporation ranked 25th overall ('C' grade).
The corporation received high marks for establishing and internalizing an ESG-based management system. In addition, it made efforts to secure capital, launched new projects such as a Go-exclusive stadium, and contributed to improving its revenue structure through consultations with related organizations regarding fund management.
Its customer-centric digital service innovations also drew attention. The corporation achieved tangible results in digital transformation by introducing mobile prepaid parking passes, enabling Hi-Pass payments, and establishing integrated services with Kakao Mobility, among other practical system improvements.
In terms of organizational culture, the expansion of on-site communication led by the CEO and the promotion of horizontal communication were positively evaluated. The corporation fostered a culture of empathy and participation through various communication channels, including town hall meetings, empathy dates, and brown bag meetings.
Kim Yongseok, President of Uijeongbu Urban Corporation, stated, "This evaluation result is a valuable achievement created by all our executives and employees together," and added, "We will continue to strive to become the best public enterprise trusted by citizens."
