As three universities in the region?Chungnam National University and Kongju National University (as an integrated model), Hannam University, and Hanbat National University?are scheduled to submit their official designation applications to the Ministry of Education by the 11th, Daejeon City has launched an all-out effort in the final stage.

For the official designation of the 'Glocal University 30' project, universities must submit their applications, after which the official evaluation will take place at the end of this month. The final list of designated universities (up to 10) will be announced in September, marking the completion of the official designation process for the 'Glocal University 30' project.

For this call for applications: ▲Chungnam National University and Kongju National University plan to submit a joint application as an integrated model; ▲Hannam University and ▲Hanbat National University each plan to apply independently.

Specifically, ▲Chungnam National University and Kongju National University will jointly apply as an integrated model to establish the 'Chungcheong Regional Industry-Academia-Research Innovation Platform.' Hannam University plans to apply independently with a vision to create a 'K-Startup Valley' that connects with local industries based on its specialized capabilities in entrepreneurship education. Hanbat National University will also apply independently, aiming to become a 'Glocal Talent Development Hub University' specializing in artificial intelligence transformation, maintenance-repair-overhaul (AX-MRO), and the defense semiconductor sector.

Since June, the city has operated a strategic support system to respond to the official designation process. It has strengthened university-specific task forces and established collaborative systems in various areas, including participation, networking, promotion, and support.

Director Koh Hyundeok stated, "Since each university has prepared diligently over a long period, I sincerely hope this leads to excellent results," adding, "Daejeon City will provide unwavering support until the very end."
