600 Servings of Samgyetang Prepared
for Vulnerable Senior Citizens

The Dalseo-gu Senior Welfare Center has stepped forward to support vulnerable elderly residents who are struggling with the ongoing heatwave.


On July 29, to mark Jungbok, the Dalseo-gu Senior Welfare Center held the 'Bokdak Bokdak Samgyetang Sharing Day' event for more than 600 elderly people in the community who are marginalized and spending the summer alone.

This event was organized to help elderly people, who face difficulties in maintaining their health and nutrition during the heat, recover their energy and encourage them to have a healthy summer.


On this day, members of the Durumi Volunteer Group personally prepared and cooked samgyetang, carefully packed side dishes, and delivered them to the elderly, sharing their warmheartedness.


In particular, this samgyetang sharing event was made possible through the active cooperation of local volunteers and various organizations, fostering warmth in the community and strengthening emotional support and bonds among vulnerable elderly residents.


Kim Jinhong, Director of the Dalseo-gu Senior Welfare Center, said, "We organized this event in the hope that it would provide some comfort and strength to elderly people going through a difficult time due to the heatwave," and added, "We will continue to work with the community and spare no effort to provide various forms of support so that the elderly can enjoy a healthy and happy old age."
