Dishwasher Wins Best of the Best, Refrigerator and Robot Vacuum Cleaner Receive Special Awards
Samsung Electronics' Bespoke artificial intelligence (AI) home appliances have been recognized for their ergonomic design.
On July 30, Samsung Electronics announced that its Bespoke AI home appliances received the 2025 Ergonomic Design Award, organized by the Ergonomics Society of Korea. The Ergonomic Design Award is the most prestigious award in the field of ergonomic design, evaluating products from a consumer perspective in terms of ▲usability ▲efficiency ▲safety ▲emotional quality, among other criteria.

The 2025 Bespoke AI Dishwasher was named 'Best of the Best' in the Ergonomic Design Award. In addition, the 'Bespoke AI Hybrid' refrigerator and the 'Bespoke AI Steam' robot vacuum cleaner received the 'Special Award'.
The Bespoke AI Dishwasher, which won the 'Best of the Best' award, features an 'Auto Open Door' that opens with a light touch. This allows users to conveniently open the door even when holding dishes in both hands or wearing rubber gloves. The dishwasher is also equipped with a 'Glide Rail' on the upper interior shelf, enabling even heavy dish baskets to slide in and out smoothly, so users can move the baskets easily with minimal effort. Other practical design elements that received high praise include the 'Cup Custom Wash Zone', designed to thoroughly clean the inside of cups; the 'Large Capacity Custom Shelf', optimized for storing soup bowls and rice bowls; and the 'Frying Pan Holder', which allows frying pans to be stored upright.
The Bespoke AI Hybrid refrigerator, which received the Special Award, also features the Auto Open Door, making it easy for elderly people or children to open the door with a gentle touch. It was also highly rated for allowing users to open the door easily with voice commands such as "Open the refrigerator door." In addition, the refrigerator is equipped with the 'AI Vision Inside' function, which uses an internal camera to recognize food items as they are placed in or taken out, automatically creating a food inventory list to assist with food management. Through the 9-inch touchscreen, users can easily monitor and control various appliances and devices at a glance. The touchscreen is positioned for optimal convenience, allowing users to check information and operate the appliance easily, and this design was also well received.
Lee Bona, Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics' Digital Appliances Division, said, "We place great importance on ergonomic design from the product planning stage," and added, "We will continue to strive to create products that are easy and safe for everyone to use, regardless of age or gender."
