Satisfaction Rises Across All Practical Policies
Top Achievement of the 8th Elected Administration: "Communication with Residents"
Out of every 100 residents in Jung-gu, Seoul, 95 are satisfied with living in the district. According to Jung-gu on July 29, the results of the "2025 District Administration Satisfaction and Policy Demand Survey" showed that 94.7% of respondents expressed satisfaction with living in Jung-gu, marking a 0.9 percentage point increase from the previous year.
In particular, satisfaction levels rose evenly in areas closely related to residents' daily lives, such as welfare, education, and health, clearly demonstrating the tangible effects of practical policies. Additionally, 88.5% of respondents stated that they would like to continue living in Jung-gu for the next 10 years.
By category, high satisfaction was maintained in Jung-gu's traditionally strong areas: safety and public order (91.2%, up 1.4 percentage points), transportation (88.8%, up 1.6 percentage points), and convenience facilities (84.2%, up 1.4 percentage points).
Notably, satisfaction with resident-focused welfare policies saw a significant increase. The percentage of respondents who said that health programs were helpful in their lives reached 95.5%, a 9.6 percentage point rise from the previous year. This indicates that practical health policies, such as the health mileage system and the training of health leaders, have been effectively integrated into residents' daily lives.
The transportation subsidy program for seniors received a positive evaluation from 85% of respondents, demonstrating that Jung-gu's transportation welfare policies for those aged 65 and older are providing tangible benefits in daily life.
Satisfaction with educational support programs was 83.6%, up 9.4 percentage points from last year. This is interpreted as a result of balanced, customized educational support from early childhood to high school, which has contributed to increasing residents' trust.
Urban environment and living infrastructure policies have also brought positive changes to residents' lives. Satisfaction with the Namsan Footpath, which was completed last year, reached 98.4%. In addition, 97.1% evaluated that the monorail in Daehyeonsan Reservoir Park?the first of its kind in Seoul?was helpful for mobility, indicating that eco-friendly infrastructure policies in the city center are leading to tangible benefits such as improved mobility rights for the mobility-impaired and the creation of leisure environments.
Myeongdong Square recorded a remarkable 48.4 percentage point increase in awareness compared to the previous year, and 40.1% of respondents said it contributed to revitalizing the local economy by attracting tourists. This confirms that Myeongdong Square is being recognized not just for landscape improvement, but also as a policy achievement driving urban recovery and the local economy.
In addition, 89.4% responded that the easing of Namsan height restrictions?a key policy promoted by Jung-gu?helped improve the residential environment. This figure is up 24.7 percentage points from the previous year, reflecting a simultaneous increase in policy trust and resident expectations for the Namsan-friendly residential area improvement project.
Overall interest in Jung-gu policies was 84.2%, while 70.7% rated the district's policies positively. Since the launch of the 8th popularly elected administration, "communication with residents" was selected as the best policy. This demonstrates that mobile-based administrative communication systems, such as the district office's communication text phone, U-Happiness Communication, and AI Naepyeon Jung-gu, have become deeply embedded in residents' daily lives.
This survey was conducted from June 9 to June 20, targeting 600 Jung-gu residents aged 18 or older. The sampling error is ±4.0 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
Kim Gilseong, Mayor of Jung-gu, stated, "This survey served as an opportunity to confirm how much Jung-gu's policies are being felt in residents' daily lives," adding, "We will further expand policies with high resident satisfaction, and improve areas that need supplementation by seeking solutions on the ground."
