According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Cho spoke with Minister Wang for about 45 minutes starting at 12:00 p.m. that day, stating, "I hope to closely cooperate for the development of Korea-China relations."
Minister Wang congratulated Minister Cho on his inauguration and expressed his intention to maintain a "close working relationship."
The foreign ministers of both countries reaffirmed their consensus to continue the mature development of the Korea-China strategic cooperative partnership. They agreed that, on the occasion of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit to be held in Gyeongju at the end of October this year, the two countries would continue the positive momentum of high-level exchanges and prepare for substantial cooperation outcomes that both peoples can tangibly experience.
During the call, Minister Cho invited Minister Wang to visit Korea, and Minister Wang responded that he would visit Korea at a mutually convenient time. The two ministers agreed to continue necessary cooperation through regular exchanges in the future.
