Gyeongnam Eastern Safety Task Force Launches 'Cool Day' Campaign for Heatwave Preparedness

The Gyeongnam Eastern Safety and Health Task Force (headed by Kwon Kuhyung, Director of the Yangsan Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor) visited the 'K Shipbuilding' site in Jinhae-gu, Changwon Special City on July 24 to conduct the 'Heatwave Safety Cool Day' campaign to prevent heat-related illnesses.

Gyeongnam Eastern Safety Task Force Launches 'Cool Day' Campaign for Heatwave Preparedness The Safety and Health Task Force of Eastern Gyeongnam visited the K Shipbuilding site in Jinhae-gu, Changwon Special City to conduct a "Heatwave Safety Cool Day" campaign to prevent heat-related illnesses and took a commemorative photo.

This campaign was jointly organized by four safety and health task forces in the Busan region: Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, and Gyeongnam Eastern. Related organizations also participated, including the Changwon Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, the Serious Accident Prevention Division of the Gyeongnam Provincial Government, the Gyeongnam Labor-Management-Government Council, the Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters of the Korean Industrial Health Association, the Changwon Branch of the Korean Industrial Safety Association, and LG HelloVision.


Prevention activities focused on providing cold beverages to workers through a coffee truck, distributing promotional materials on the five basic heatwave safety rules, and supplying cooling sleeves to prevent heat-related illnesses.


Kwon Kuhyung, Director of the Yangsan Branch, stated, "I hope this campaign, which was conducted with the participation of local safety and health task forces, will raise awareness about heatwave safety," and urged, "Please do your utmost at each workplace to prevent heat-related illnesses."
