Song Hyeongjong and Choi Taeji Appointed as Co-Chairs of the Promotion Committee
The Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture announced on the 22nd that it held the launch ceremony for the '2025 Seoul Autumn Festa' Promotion Committee on the 21st at Daehakro Theater Quad in Jongno-gu, Seoul.
Seoul Autumn Festa is an integrated brand platform that brings together and introduces information on pure arts performances and festivals?such as theater, dance, music, and traditional arts?presented in Seoul during the autumn season under a single brand. The platform was created to address issues that arose from the separate hosting of various performances and festivals, which led to dispersed publicity and a lack of policy integration.

The Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture stated that it aims to establish Seoul Autumn Festa as a unique performing arts season exclusive to Seoul, thereby laying the foundation for Seoul to become a global hub for performing arts. This year, as the initial stage of brand integration, the foundation will prioritize building a seasonal brand operation system that unites Seoul's autumn performing arts content. Next year, it plans to expand the platform into an international performing arts hub through active domestic and international artistic exchanges.
The 2025 Seoul Autumn Festa will run for 40 days, starting with the opening event on October 4 and continuing until November 12. More than 100 performing arts works and festivals will be presented as an integrated brand at major venues across Seoul, including Seoul Plaza, Daehakro, Nodeul Island, Cheonggyecheon, and Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP).
The Promotion Committee consists of approximately 120 members, including artists such as Kim Junsu and Danny Koo, private associations such as the Korea Theater Association, International Association of Theatre, and Korea Women’s Theater Association, as well as festival organizations like the Seoul International Music Festival and Seoul International Dance Festival, and representatives from cultural institutions in local districts. The committee is jointly chaired by Song Hyeongjong, CEO of the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture, and Choi Taeji, former director of the National Ballet Company. It operates with four divisions: the Planning Committee, Advisory Committee, Public Relations Committee, and Participation Project Group.
Song Hyeongjong, CEO of the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture, stated, "Seoul Autumn Festa is a platform that connects artists and citizens, the city and the season." He added, "Through Seoul Autumn Festa, we will focus on three key objectives: strengthening the creative ecosystem centered on the arts scene, expanding citizens' access to performing arts, and enhancing Seoul's competitiveness as a global cultural city." He further emphasized, "We will go beyond simple content integration to make Seoul's autumn synonymous with performing arts, and expand our strategy to elevate the city's dignity and competitiveness based on the brand."
