Pukyong National University Students Participate in Design
Delivering the Message: "Korea United Through Patriots and Veterans Affairs"
The Busan Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs (Director Namil Lee) has collaborated with the local company Daesun Juzo (CEO Hongseong Choi) to release a special label product in celebration of the 80th anniversary of Gwangbok.
This commemorative product was designed around the phrase "80th Anniversary of Gwangbok, Korea United Through Patriots and Veterans Affairs," and is being sold with the label attached to Daesun Juzo's flagship product, "Daesun 159."
Five students from the Department of Visual Design at Pukyong National University, who are also members of the Patriots and Veterans Affairs Promotion Supporters group (Yerim Lee, Bukyung Kim, Ahyoung Kim, Jiwon Choi, and Bokyung Kwon), directly participated in the label design. The design features a modern reinterpretation of the four trigrams (Geon, Gon, Gam, Ri) from the Taegeukgi, and the "Dae" character in the product name "Daesun" incorporates the shape of the Gam trigram (坎卦), expressing both tradition and symbolism.
Previously, on June 26, 2025, Daesun Juzo received the Presidential Citation at the "2025 Month of Patriots and Veterans Affairs Government Awards Ceremony" held at the Ambassador Pullman Hotel in Seoul.
This recognition was the result of ongoing Patriots and Veterans Affairs campaigns conducted in partnership with the Busan Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, and the current collaboration is an extension of those efforts.
Additionally, the Busan Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs is hosting a photo certification event related to the special label commemorating the 80th anniversary of Gwangbok through the "Yeogibohun" website.
A representative from the Busan Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs stated, "We are deeply grateful to the Pukyong National University students who participated in the design despite their busy academic schedules, as well as to Daesun Juzo for actively cooperating in the collaboration," adding, "We hope that this commemorative product, created jointly by a local company and young people, will help convey the meaning of Gwangbok to citizens in a more approachable way."
