Samgyetang Served at Sanencheong Welfare Center for Chobok
"I Hope This Simple Meal Gives Strength to Overcome the Heat"
Seunghwa Lee, Governor of Sancheong County in South Gyeongsang Province, participated in a free meal service, sharing warmth with seniors, people with disabilities, and local residents.
According to Sancheong County on July 17, a special meal sharing event featuring Samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) was held at the Sanencheong Welfare Center on July 16 to mark Chobok, the first of the three hottest days in summer.
As part of a community-based welfare program to promote a healthy summer, the event was held simultaneously at both the main and branch buildings of the center, with more than 240 participants including seniors, people with disabilities, and local residents.
In particular, Governor Lee personally served carefully prepared meals at the branch of the Sanencheong Welfare Center, engaging directly with the attendees.
Additionally, the branch hosted a coffee sharing event and a cultural performance, which received an enthusiastic response.
Governor Lee said, "I decided to participate in the meal service out of a desire for our residents to have a healthy summer," adding, "Although it is just a simple meal, I hope it helps everyone get through the heat."
