Emphasis on Preventing Summer Food Poisoning
On July 16, Seongsan-gu in Changwon Special City, South Gyeongsang Province, held a meeting with executives and staff of the Seongsan-gu Branch of the Korea Federation of Restaurants in Changwon Special City to discuss ways to revitalize the restaurant industry and recover the local economy.
During the meeting, Seongsan-gu Mayor Hong Sunyoung gave an introductory address upon taking office, shared key district issues, and listened to suggestions from business owners, creating an open forum for communication.
In particular, ahead of the implementation of the Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon program, the district provided policy guidance so that restaurant owners could prepare in advance, encouraged participation in boosting consumption, and requested active cooperation to ensure smooth district administration.
Additionally, in light of the ongoing heatwave, the importance of preventing summer food poisoning and strengthening hygiene was emphasized. The district urged restaurants to enhance hygiene management, provide friendly service, and offer safe food so that both residents and visitors can dine with peace of mind.
The Seongsan-gu Branch of the Korea Federation of Restaurants in Changwon manages 2,900 member establishments out of a total of 2,925 general restaurants located in Seongsan-gu.
Hong Sunyoung, Mayor of Seongsan-gu, stated, "We expect that the implementation of the Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon will bring significant vitality to the local restaurant industry," and added, "The district office will actively support citizens so they can make the most of the coupons."
She further commented, "As the risk of food poisoning can increase in hot weather, I hope businesses will make even greater efforts in hygiene management to prevent food poisoning."
