Sinan County to Launch Full-Scale Customized Support for Vulnerable Infants and Young Children

Expectations for Healthy Growth and Reduced Childcare Burden

Sinan County in South Jeolla Province is set to launch customized development support and nutritional supplement programs to promote the healthy growth and development of infants and young children from vulnerable groups in the region.

On July 15, the county announced that it will implement the "2025 Customized Early Childhood Development Support Project" and the "Nutritional Supplement Support Project" for children who are recipients of Dream Start case management, starting in the second half of the year.

This initiative is a tailored welfare project aimed at supporting the balanced growth of children from vulnerable backgrounds, with a focus on providing childcare items that are genuinely needed by both children and their families.

The county has conducted a preliminary survey of required items through early childhood development indicators and face-to-face consultations. Based on these findings, it plans to distribute customized childcare items to 28 infants and young children starting at the end of July.

In addition, the "Nutritional Supplement Support Project" for 147 children registered with Dream Start will begin on July 16. Sinan County plans to distribute nutritional supplements to enhance immunity and basic health management for children in their growth phase, and will also provide nutrition education for guardians to promote the adoption of proper health management habits.

This project is focused on alleviating the childcare burden for families with vulnerable caregiving environments and on creating conditions that allow children to grow up healthier and more securely.

Kim Daein, acting governor of Sinan County, stated, "Through this project, we expect to create an environment where infants and young children can grow up healthy and to reduce the childcare burden on parents. Going forward, we will continue to expand detailed and practical customized welfare services tailored to the individual needs of children, with Dream Start as the core."

Meanwhile, Sinan County plans to continue actively promoting integrated case management and customized welfare policies to address gaps in child welfare coverage.
