Siheung City announced on July 14 that a total of eight companies had applied, either individually or as part of a consortium, by the deadline for submitting letters of intent for the 'Wolgotdong 995 Complex Development Project Private Developer Recruitment,' which was held on July 10 and 11.

The companies that submitted letters of intent are: Shinyoung Daenong Development, Geumdo Construction, Phips Wave Development, JLK Holdings, White Korea, Gyeyoung Innovation, Hoban Construction, and Woomee Construction.

This site is the former location of the Marine World amusement facility, which has remained vacant since the facility closed in 2008 due to financial difficulties. The site covers an area of 19,140 square meters and is classified as a general commercial zone. The planned supply price is 88.2 billion won.

The successful bidder will carry out a complex development project on the site, incorporating residential, commercial, and office functions.

The site is located near Wolgot Station on the Suin-Bundang Line, and the Gyeonggang Line is scheduled to open in 2029. The 235,780-square-meter Wolgot Station Area Urban Development Project, promoted by Siheung Urban Corporation, is also adjacent to the site.

The companies that submitted letters of intent in this round must submit their business plans by October 13. The city plans to conduct a written review process, including a Q&A session with the participating companies, and then form an evaluation committee to assess the business plans and select a preferred negotiation partner.

Siheung City Mayor Lim Byeongtaek stated, "This recruitment is not just about selling land; it marks an important starting point for creating a landmark complex facility that will represent Wolgot New Town. We will leverage the site's excellent connectivity to serve as a catalyst for sustainable regional development."
