According to the city, this is the first nationwide archery championship to be held in Iksan. The event is hosted by the Korea University Archery Federation and organized by the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Archery Association.

More than 300 university archers from across the country will participate in the competition, which will be divided into individual and team events. For the athletes, this serves as an important stage to showcase their skills and as a significant opportunity to discover future national team members.

In particular, attention is focused on Kim Yeongeun of the Wonkwang University archery team. Kim demonstrated her abilities last month by finishing third in the women's individual university division at the 43rd Presidential National Men's and Women's Archery Competition held in Gwangju.

The city expects that hosting this event will further solidify Iksan's status as a sports-oriented city and contribute to revitalizing the local economy through increased visitor inflow.

Mayor Jung Heon-yul stated, "As this is the first nationwide archery championship to be held in Iksan, I hope it will become a new milestone for local sports," adding, "I support all participating athletes to perform at their best and achieve excellent results."
