Yeongam Wolchulsan Gichan Land, which has built a nationwide reputation as a summer cultural and leisure destination, will open this weekend on the 12th.

Gichan Land is an eco-friendly water park that utilizes the clear valley water and natural underground bedrock water from the foothills of Wolchulsan Mountain. It features outdoor pools of various sizes and an indoor water park, allowing people of all ages to enjoy the facilities safely.

Since its opening in 2008, there has not been a single water-related safety accident in the past 16 years, making it a popular spot that attracts countless vacationers every year.

On the opening day, the 12th, a variety of programs will be held for all ages, including a bare-hand eel catching experience, African percussion performances, balloon art, and face painting. The county plans to release 600 eels for the eel catching event.

The admission fee 50% refund program in Yeongam Love Gift Certificates, which was introduced last year, will continue this year as well. Visitors can use the local currency freely at nearby businesses. In addition, this year, the introduction of the 'Delivery Zone' will allow guests to conveniently order food from various restaurants in Yeongam-eup, promoting both user convenience and revitalization of the local economy. Comfortable amenities such as showers, changing rooms, parking lots, and shaded rest areas have also been expanded to further enhance visitor satisfaction.

An official from Yeongam County stated, "Even before the opening, we have thoroughly prepared to maintain our 'zero-accident record' this year through regular water quality inspections, hygiene checks, safety staff training, and equipment inspections." The official added, "Gichan Land is not just a water park, but a safe and trustworthy leisure destination that continues to be loved by visitors."
