Gwangju Shinsegae Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Donghoon) has reported that its Play Spot has successfully attracted customers with the introduction of new brands. Having introduced popular brands to the Honam region for the first time, Play Spot has become a hotspot for the MZ generation, and attention is focused on whether it can maintain this momentum going forward.

According to Gwangju Shinsegae, Play Spot's sales in the first half of the year increased by 7.7% compared to the same period last year. This growth is attributed to the introduction of several brands favored by the MZ generation since October of last year, which also led to improved sales at existing stores.

The most notable example is the new 'Levi's' store, which opened in October last year.

Levi's at Gwangju Shinsegae Play Spot received strong customer interest, achieving more than 130% of its sales target for the first half of the year. The top contributor to attracting customers at Levi's Gwangju Shinsegae has been the Loose Straight Jeans. As the name suggests, these jeans offer a relaxed fit for a comfortable silhouette. Made from soft cottonized hemp yarn, they also provide excellent comfort.

Recently, the Levi's store at Gwangju is the only one in the region to offer 'LVC' products, drawing significant attention from customers. LVC stands for 'Levi's Vintage Clothing,' a premium line that re-releases popular items from Levi's past collections.

Alongside Levi's, 'Marithe Francois Girbaud' is another brand receiving enthusiastic attention at Gwangju Shinsegae Play Spot. Having relocated and reopened at Gwangju Shinsegae Play Spot in October last year, Marithe Francois Girbaud is beloved by a wide range of customers, including but not limited to the MZ generation, thanks to its 1990s retro vibe.

Marithe Francois Girbaud at Gwangju Shinsegae achieved 140% of its sales target for the first half of the year, continuing to attract a steady stream of customers. For the S/S season, Marithe Francois Girbaud at Gwangju Shinsegae recommends the Marithe My Melody Oversized T-shirt. Featuring My Melody, one of the Sanrio characters, on both the front and back, the shirt is available in white and gray.

Sales growth among existing brands is also noteworthy.

'Mind Bridge' at Gwangju Shinsegae saw its first-half sales increase by more than 50% year-on-year. For the S/S season, Mind Bridge at Gwangju Shinsegae recommends the Jung Haein Semi-Wide Banding Slacks. Made with Coolmax material, these slacks are suitable for midsummer wear, and the use of recycled yarn makes them environmentally friendly.

'Polham' at Gwangju Shinsegae is also experiencing robust sales. Polham at Gwangju Shinsegae recorded a sales increase of over 40% year-on-year in the first half, marking a high growth rate. Polham at Gwangju Shinsegae is offering up to 50% off during its season-off sale, which runs until the end of July.

Lee Jeongil, Team Leader of Gwangju Shinsegae Play Spot, stated, "Since last year, Play Spot has introduced brands favored by MZ customers, resulting in improved sales in the first half of the year. We will continue striving to offer products that meet customer needs and deliver even greater shopping enjoyment to our customers."
