This agreement was established to build a cooperative system between the two institutions for analyzing the impact of climate and environmental changes on tree ecosystems and for developing diagnostic technologies. The two organizations plan to initiate joint research and technology development aimed at improving tree health and enhancing the urban ecological environment.

Through this agreement, the two centers agreed to cooperate on several key areas: developing customized management technologies based on diagnosing the causes of tree damage and analyzing growth environments; analyzing the effects of climate and environmental changes on tree health and urban green ecosystems and establishing corresponding response strategies; developing pest control and ecological restoration technologies; and mutually sharing and jointly utilizing human and material resources, equipment, and technical information.

In addition, the two institutions will collaborate on developing analytical solutions that can be practically applied in the field, such as monitoring harmful factors in soil, water, and air; analyzing physiological active substances in trees; and providing integrated consulting based on environmental impact assessments.

Yang Minjun, head of the Pukyong National University center, stated, "This agreement enables us to provide effective research and services for the preservation of tree ecosystems and the environment," adding, "I hope it serves as an opportunity to strengthen our capacities for regional ecosystem restoration and climate risk response together."

Since being selected for the Ministry of Education’s Basic Science Research Capacity Enhancement Project in 2021, the Earth Environment Convergence Analysis Center at Pukyong National University has been actively engaged in region-based earth environment research, industry-academia cooperation, and the cultivation of specialized personnel, and has established cooperative networks with 25 research institutions both domestically and internationally.

Meanwhile, the Tree Diagnosis Center at Gyeongsang National University is the only tree diagnosis institution designated by the Korea Forest Service in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam region. It plays a variety of roles, including training tree doctors and tree treatment technicians, managing trees in residential areas, preventing the misuse of pesticides, and providing tree protection consulting and educational seminars.
