Mapo-gu Recruiting Participants for 'Youth Challenge Support Project' to Help Long-term Unemployed Youth Re-enter Society

Short-term and Mid-term Courses Operated Until August 31

Mapo-gu, Seoul is recruiting participants for the 'Youth Challenge Support Project' until August 31 to support the social reintegration of young people who have been out of the job search process for an extended period.

The 'Youth Challenge Support Project' is a customized program designed to boost the motivation and confidence of unemployed youth. It offers various processes, including intensive counseling and case management by professional counselors, confidence-building, and career exploration.


This recruitment will be operated as a 6-week short-term course (30 participants) and a 15-week mid-term course (15 participants). Those who complete the short-term course will receive a participation allowance of 500,000 won, while those who complete the mid-term course will receive up to 2,200,000 won, including incentives.


Eligible participants include young people who, as of the application date, have not engaged in employment, education, or vocational training for at least six months, youth preparing for independence, young people entering or leaving youth welfare facilities, and North Korean defector youth. Participants in the mid-term course will also be given opportunities to engage in activities linked with external organizations, such as company visits.

Meanwhile, Mapo-gu is supporting young job seekers through various youth support policies, such as the 'Youth Job Preparation Expense Support Project,' which covers qualification exam fees and hair and makeup costs for interview preparation, and the 'Youth Interview Suit Free Rental Service,' which provides free rental of interview suits.


Park Kangsoo, Mayor of Mapo-gu, stated, "We will spare no practical and continuous support to help young people who have given up on job searching to re-enter social activities," and added, "We sincerely support the dreams and hopes of each and every young person."
