Free Topic on Dementia
Submissions Accepted Until August 21
Gwangju City will host the "2025 Dementia Overcoming Slogan and Creative Poetry Contest." This contest has been organized to improve negative perceptions of dementia and to foster a dementia-friendly community atmosphere through active citizen participation.
The contest, hosted by the Gwangju City Dementia Center, is open to all residents of Gwangju City. Participants may submit entries on any topic related to dementia, including a slogan (within 20 characters) or a creative poem (within 15 lines).
Entries will be accepted via email, mail, or in person until August 21. For more details, participants can refer to the "Notices" section on the Gwangju City Dementia Center website or contact the Education and Public Relations Team at the center.
For each category, the awards are as follows: one Grand Prize winner (gift certificate worth 300,000 won), two Excellence Award winners (gift certificate worth 200,000 won each), and two Encouragement Award winners (gift certificate worth 100,000 won each). Winners will receive a certificate and a gift certificate. The results will be announced on September 2 on the Gwangju City Dementia Center website, and the awards ceremony will be held on September 18 during the "Dementia Overcoming Day Commemoration Event."
Bae Kangsook, Director of the Health and Hygiene Division, said on July 3, "We hope that through this contest, many citizens will join in creating a positive and friendly atmosphere regarding dementia."
