Kim Taeheum, Governor of Chungnam Province, stated on the 30th, "Over the past three years, we have dynamically transformed Chungnam through challenge and innovation," adding, "The remaining year will be the finishing touch."

On this day, Governor Kim held a press conference in the large conference room of the provincial government, reviewing the achievements of the 8th popularly elected administration over the past three years, including securing government budgets, attracting corporate investment, and fulfilling campaign pledges.

In fact, Chungnam increased the amount of national funding it secured from 8.3 trillion won in 2022 to 11 trillion won this year, raising the total by approximately 3 trillion won over three years. The total amount of domestic and foreign corporate investment attracted nearly 40 trillion won, more than doubling compared to the 7th administration.

In government-sponsored projects, the province successfully secured major initiatives such as the Asan Police Hospital branch, the Geumsan pumped-storage power plant, and the display national advanced strategic industry specialized complex. Additionally, two out of four nationally designated carbon-neutral leading cities were selected in Chungnam.

The establishment of smart farms to attract young farmers is also progressing rapidly. Chungnam has developed half of its target area so far, and last year, the average net profit of the seven young farmers operating smart farms reached 180 million won.

Furthermore, the province laid the foundation for future growth by attracting institutions such as the KAIST Academy Campus and the National Defense Future Aviation Research Center to Naepo New Town. Through expanding overseas offices and hosting export consultation meetings, Chungnam also secured export contracts worth 600 million dollars.

Welfare policies to improve residents' quality of life have also been strengthened. The province is responding to low birth rates and easing housing burdens through the establishment of a "365-day, 24-hour care system," the introduction of a four-day workweek for public institutions, and expanded housing finance support.

Governor Kim emphasized, "In the remaining year, I will ensure that these achievements come to fruition," adding, "I will devote all efforts to relocating public institutions from the Seoul metropolitan area, completing the five core provincial tasks, and advancing strategic projects that will shape Chungnam's next 100 years."
