Yeongju City Appoints Junggeun Yoo, Former Gyeongsangbuk-do Director of Welfare and Health, as New Deputy Mayor

As of July 1, Yeongju City appointed Junggeun Yoo, former Director of Welfare and Health at Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, as the new Deputy Mayor.


Deputy Mayor Junggeun Yoo will begin his official duties without a separate inauguration ceremony, instead visiting each department at City Hall to greet employees.


He is a native of Yeongju City and began his public service career in 1991 through the Grade 7 open competitive examination, with his first assignment also being in Yeongju City. Since 1996, he has worked at the Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Government, holding key positions such as in the Road and Railway Division, as Director of Population Policy, and as Director of Policy Planning in the Planning and Coordination Office. He is regarded as an administrative expert with both practical and policy expertise.


Deputy Mayor Yoo stated, "It is an honor to be able to work in my hometown again, and as the acting mayor, I will do my best to ensure there is no administrative vacuum." He added, "Together with public officials, I will communicate with citizens with humility and strive to ensure that key issues and priority projects are carried out without any setbacks."
