Seocho-gu to Launch "Online Advance Reservation System for Civil Document Issuance" on June 30

Seocho-gu in Seoul will officially launch an "Online Advance Reservation System for Civil Document Issuance" starting June 30, aiming to alleviate residents' inconvenience caused by crowded civil service counters and long wait times.

Under this new system, if residents make a reservation online in advance, they can receive their civil documents immediately upon visiting the OK Civil Service Center at the district office, without having to wait in line. Those with advance reservations can print a "reservation-only ticket" from the ticket dispenser in the civil service office and receive priority service. Same-day reservations are not allowed; reservations can be made from at least one day up to a maximum of 15 days in advance.

The service operates on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (excluding lunch break from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.), with 30-minute slots available until 5:30 p.m. In particular, on Wednesdays, the night civil service office is open until 8:00 p.m., and reservations can be made up to 7:30 p.m., which is 30 minutes before closing.

Advance reservations are available for the issuance of around 20 types of civil documents with high demand, such as resident registration certificates, family relationship certificates, and seal certificates. Reservations can be made on the Seocho-gu Office website (Comprehensive Civil Service → Civil Service Guide → Online Advance Reservation for Civil Document Issuance). However, for corporate or bulk civil document requests that require a significant amount of time, reservations are restricted to ensure smooth operation.

Meanwhile, Seocho-gu provides "real-time civil service waiting status" information so that residents can check wait times in advance and avoid peak hours. Additionally, an Alimtalk service is available, which sends real-time notifications via KakaoTalk messages about the current number of people waiting and the estimated wait time.

In 2023, Seocho-gu also established a connecting passageway within the OK Civil Service Center to eliminate the inconvenience of having to go outside for passport issuance, continuing its efforts to provide residents with a convenient and smart civil service system.

Seocho-gu Mayor Jeon Sungsoo stated, "The online advance reservation system for civil document issuance is a service designed to reduce residents' waiting inconvenience and realize smarter administration," adding, "We will continue to listen to residents' voices and spare no effort to ensure that everyone can always receive convenient and smart civil services."
