The Ulsan Institute of Health and Environment Research was recognized as a 'Laboratory of Excellence' in both the water quality and drinking water categories at the '2025 International Proficiency Test'.
This test was organized by the international proficiency test operator WATERS ERA (USA) and conducted over a two-month period from April to May 2025.
WATERS ERA is an internationally accredited proficiency test operator certified by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
The international proficiency test organized by ERA is conducted annually to evaluate the reliability and accuracy of measurement and analysis data from testing institutions around the world.
The Ulsan Institute of Health and Environment Research participated in a total of 39 items, including 22 items in the water quality category such as cadmium, phenolic compounds, and chloride ions, and 17 items in the drinking water category such as cadmium, phenol, and benzene. The institute received a 'Satisfactory' evaluation in all items.
The evaluation method verified the measurement and analysis capabilities of participating institutions for unknown samples in three stages: satisfactory, caution, and unsatisfactory.
An official from the institute stated, "Through the results of this test, our outstanding analytical capabilities in the fields of water quality and drinking water have once again been internationally validated," adding, "We will continue to do our best to strengthen our analytical capabilities and to further improve the accuracy and reliability of our analysis results."
