Hanji Entertainment announced on June 26 that actor Kim Heesun has been cast as the lead in TV Chosun's new weekend mini-series "There Is No Next Life."

The agency stated, "Viewers will be able to see a completely different side of Kim Heesun compared to her previous work 'Our House.' She will realistically portray the delicate emotions experienced by middle-aged women."

"There Is No Next Life" will premiere this November and will also be available on Netflix. The drama tells the comedic coming-of-age story of three forty-one-year-old friends, exhausted by parenting and work, as they stumble through their journey to find a better life. Director Sung Dojoon, known for the 2021 drama "Uncle," and writer Shin Iwon, who wrote "Green Mothers' Club" in 2022, have joined forces for this project.

Kim Heesun will play the role of Jo Najung, who was once a highly promising show host earning an annual salary in the hundreds of millions of won, but is now experiencing a career break while raising her two sons. As an ordinary housewife, Jo Najung decides to return to the stage after a chance event, embarking on a new chapter in her life.

Alongside Kim Heesun, actors Han Hyejin and Jin Seoyeon will play her two best friends, also forty-one years old. The friendship and growth of these three women, each living different lives, will be a key point of interest in the series.

Recently, Kim Heesun worked as an art director at the "ATO; Beautiful Gift Exhibition" held in New York, and with this new project, she is making a full-fledged return to acting. Starting with her main MC appearance on JTBC's new variety show "Hankkijupsyo," which is scheduled to air in July, she will continue with "There Is No Next Life," and is also preparing a new project in a different genre for next year.
