On June 26, it was announced that Doksan MD Hotel, operated by Star SM REITs, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with renowned Chinese cuisine chef Yoo Bangnyeong to collaborate on enhancing the hotel's gourmet content.
Chef Yoo, owner-chef of 'Shinchai' and former executive chef of 'Dowon' at The Plaza Hotel, is credited with elevating the standard of Chinese cuisine in Korea. He is widely known for his unique culinary philosophy and profound flavors, earning the nickname of one of the "Four Great Schools."
Through this agreement, Chef Yoo will introduce high-end menus that combine modern sensibilities and creative content with traditional Chinese cuisine.
The MD Hotel stated, "By collaborating with Chef Yoo Bangnyeong, we aim to further strengthen our food and beverage (F&B) competitiveness and maximize customer satisfaction with a menu lineup that can be enjoyed by all generations."
Chef Yoo commented, "I am dedicated to developing Chinese cuisine that can be enjoyed by a wide range of age groups, and I plan to present the results of this work directly at MD Hotel."
Through this partnership, MD Hotel expressed its ambition to transform itself from a simple accommodation space into a 'gourmet destination.'
Chef Yoo Bangnyeong's dishes are expected to offer not only excellent flavors but also delicate visual presentation and storytelling elements, providing visitors with an 'artistic experience' that goes beyond the simple pleasure of eating.
Meanwhile, the Doksan branch of MD Hotel, located in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul, has 258 rooms across three basement levels and fifteen above-ground floors, and is operated by Star SM REITs.
