Sejong City to Promote 'Hometown Love Donation Fund' Projects

Six General and Designated Donation Projects Finalized

Sejong City to Promote 'Hometown Love Donation Fund' Projects

General and designated donation projects utilizing the Hometown Love Donation Fund will be implemented.

According to Sejong City on June 26, six projects have been finalized, including four general donation projects and two designated donation projects. This was done through preliminary procedures such as idea contests, preference surveys, and collecting opinions from donors and citizens to identify donation projects since last year.

The four general donation projects selected are: support for children from vulnerable groups; the "Elders Pumassi" senior job project; and the "Saturday is Culture Camp" elementary after-school care program, among others. The two designated donation projects are: "Byeolseureon Ensemble for People with Developmental Disabilities" and the creation of a healing space for companion animals.

In particular, the "Byeolseureon Ensemble for People with Developmental Disabilities" project, which supports music activities for people with developmental disabilities to promote communication with the general public and strengthen their independence, aims to complete fundraising within this year and begin operations next year.

Additionally, the project to create a healing space for companion animals aims to improve animal welfare and promote a healthy companion animal culture. Fundraising will continue until 2027, with construction scheduled to begin in 2028. Donations are collected through Gohyangsarang-eum.

Park Daesoon, head of the Citizen Communication Division, said, "These donation projects have been structured to address real needs by reflecting the opinions of donors and citizens," and added, "We ask for the active interest and participation of donors so that the fundraising targets for the designated donation projects can be achieved as early as possible."
