Skonec Accelerates Global Expansion with "Who's at the Door?" Surpasses 10,000 Steam Wishlists

Skonec Entertainment, a company specializing in XR content and led by CEO Park Woncheol, is quietly making waves in the global market with its new VR game, "Who's at the Door?" The official release is scheduled for July 18 on the Steam (PC) platform, followed by launches on Meta and PlayStation platforms later in the second half of the year.

"Who's at the Door?" features an original scenario in which players track past memories from the perspective of a character with schizophrenia. The game delivers psychological horror set in the unfamiliar environment of a run-down Korean apartment from the 1990s, realized with high-quality graphics powered by Unreal Engine 5. The story unfolds with multiple endings based on player choices, offering an experience that goes beyond simple gameplay through its deep narrative and plot twists.

The game's marketability and content quality have already been proven. At the global game trial event "Steam Next Fest" held in June, "Who's at the Door?" ranked within the top 30 among over 2,200 titles based on demo play count, placed in the top 3 for the walking simulation genre, and made it into the top 20 for the adventure genre. The number of players surpassed 11,000, and 95% of user reviews were positive.

Notably, even without separate advertising, the demo version sparked organic viral content on global platforms like YouTube. The bold theme of mental illness and the mysterious storyline stimulated users' desire to interpret the game, prompting popular streamers to create gameplay and commentary videos that have accumulated hundreds of thousands of views. This response has translated into more than 10,000 registrations on the Steam wishlist, demonstrating the high level of anticipation for the game.

By simultaneously delivering an original world and immersive gameplay in the VR adventure genre, "Who's at the Door?" is emerging as a distinctive presence in the global indie horror market. In particular, the uniquely Korean setting and psychological depiction have made a strong impression on Western users, and actual demo play data shows that the United States and China ranked first and second, respectively, confirming global demand.

Skonec plans to actively promote the game after its official release through SNS short-form marketing, influencer review partnerships, and global user acquisition (UA) advertising. The company also intends to participate in "Scream Fest" (a Halloween horror game festival) hosted by Steam in October, aiming to boost both sales and brand awareness.

A Skonec representative stated, "The core of 'Who's at the Door?' is not just a simple horror experience, but an emotional journey that revisits the wounds and memories within the human mind. Even after the official release, we expect to rapidly strengthen our position in the global VR adventure market by continuously updating the game based on user feedback and expanding to additional platforms."
