Health and Emotional Support Provided to 40 High-Risk Single-Person Households and Others
The Ilgwang-eup Administrative Welfare Center in Gijang-gun (headed by Kim Kanghyun) is launching the "Take Care of Your Health YO" project, which provides customized health supplies to promote the well-being of residents in need of care.
This project selects 40 households in need of care, including high-risk single-person households and those with mobility difficulties, from among the recipients of the "Busan Together Care" program. Through prior consultations, the project provides tailored supplies that match each household's individual health and care needs.
The support items consist of: ▲ supplies to promote physical activity, such as heating pads, stretching bands, and roller massagers; and ▲ items to prevent cognitive decline, such as dementia prevention workbooks, coloring books, and bean sprout growing kits. In addition, emotional support items such as calligraphy frames and pouches, made possible by sponsorship from the Gijang-gun Volunteer Center and talent donations from local residents, will also be delivered. In total, 15 types of items will be provided, customized for each household.
In Ilgwang-eup, a public health nurse will visit each home to explain how to use the supplies, check on the residents' well-being, and provide basic health services such as blood pressure and blood sugar checks. Through these efforts, the center aims to both address gaps in the care system and strengthen residents' health management capabilities.
Kim Kanghyun, head of Ilgwang-eup, stated, "We paid close attention to the selection and delivery of the items to ensure they provide practical help to residents who need various forms of care," adding, "I hope this project will contribute to improving the physical and mental health of our residents and bring more vitality to their lives."
