First-Ever Autobiography Production Project
Recruiting 15 Participants Aged 65 and Older
Gwangju Bukgu District is launching its first-ever "Autobiography Production Project," which compiles the lives of residents aged 65 and older into books. On June 22, Bukgu District announced that it would support the production of autobiographies under the theme "A Retrospective of My Life - Reflection and Healing," aiming to provide seniors with an opportunity to reflect on their lives after retirement and plan for the future.
This project targets Bukgu residents aged 65 or older who have no prior experience in writing autobiographies. Participants will receive support throughout the entire process, including autobiography writing education, manuscript editing, and publication as a single-volume book. Residents who wish to participate can submit an application in person or by email by June 27, referring to the announcement on the Bukgu District Office website.
Bukgu District will select a total of 15 participants through an external expert review process. From July to November, a total of 10 educational sessions will be held at the Bukgu Happiness Harmony Center and the Gwangju Literature Center. The manuscripts produced through these sessions will be compiled and published as a single-volume book.
The publication ceremony is scheduled to take place on November 26 at the Gwangju Literature Center. For more information, please contact the Culture and Arts Division of the Bukgu District Office.
