Awarding of "Scholarship Certificates" to First Half 2025 Jangbogo Scholars
Scholarship Criteria for Families with Multiple Children Eased... Distribution Scheduled for June
The Jangbogo Scholarship Foundation announced on June 16 that it recently held the "2025 Jangbogo Scholarship Foundation First Half Scholarship Certificate Award Ceremony" in the main conference room of Wando County Office.
A total of 19 people, including students and their parents, attended the ceremony. The foundation presented scholarship certificates to new university students who graduated from high schools in Wando, as well as to local talent development scholars selected for their academic excellence or as members of underprivileged groups among middle school, high school, and university students.

For the first half of 2025, a total of 155.39 million won in scholarships was awarded to 93 students. Of this amount, 60 million won was provided to 30 new university students, and 39.5 million won was awarded to 42 local talent development scholars.
The Jangbogo Scholarship Foundation is also working to provide scholarships to families with multiple children. This year, the eligibility criteria were relaxed compared to last year, expanding support to families with two or more children. Currently, 1,380 households have applied, and the scholarships are scheduled to be distributed in June. The foundation plans to allocate a total of 2.176 billion won to 18 different scholarship programs this year.
Chairman Shin Woochul stated, "These scholarships are a precious result made possible by the affection and dedication of local residents and former residents," and added, "I hope that students, as the future leaders, will grow into talents who represent Wando County and help raise its profile far and wide."
Meanwhile, since its establishment in 2007, the Jangbogo Scholarship Foundation has raised over 18.9 billion won in scholarship funds through the ongoing participation of county residents and former residents. To date, it has contributed to the development of local education and talent by awarding a total of 5.77 billion won in scholarships to 4,843 students.
