According to legal sources, the Virtual Asset Crime Joint Investigation Unit of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office, headed by Chief Prosecutor Park Geonuk, called in Jeon for questioning on the morning of June 12, 2025. This is at least the third time Jeon has been summoned by prosecutors since the presidential election.

Prosecutors are reported to have obtained records showing that Jeon sent three text messages to a phone number registered under Kim Keonhee’s name after March 2022, and presented these records to Jeon. During this summons, prosecutors are expected to question Jeon again about indications that he expressed dissatisfaction when his requests for personnel appointments, made via text message, were not accepted.

Since last year, prosecutors have been investigating whether Jeon received an expensive necklace and luxury bag from Yoon, the former head of the World Mission Headquarters who was known as the second-in-command of the Unification Church, as gifts intended for Kim Keonhee, and whether Jeon acted as an intermediary for Unification Church-related requests to the First Lady.

Jeon reportedly admitted to receiving the necklace and bag, but claimed that he lost them without delivering them to Kim Keonhee.
