Customized Career Counseling for 200 Participants in the Youth Dadareum Project
Strengthening Job-Seeking Capabilities for Vulnerable Youth
On May 13, the Youth Foundation and the Korea Employment Information Service conducted an "On-site Consultation" at the Youth Dadareum Project Seoul Workshop. A professional counselor from the Korea Employment Information Service is conducting a one-on-one consultation with a young person.
The Youth Foundation announced on June 12 that it will expand its "On-site Consultation" program, a one-on-one career counseling service for young people from vulnerable groups, nationwide in partnership with the Korea Employment Information Service.
Since 2021, the two organizations have signed an agreement and have consistently operated the "On-site Consultation" program each year for young people preparing for employment. This year, they have agreed to expand the program nationwide, with a particular focus on increasing access to employment support services for young people outside of Seoul.
This round of consultations will be conducted in connection with the Youth Foundation’s customized support project for vulnerable youth, the "Youth Dadareum Project." By providing counseling to 200 participants in the Youth Dadareum Project across 10 regions nationwide, the program is expected to offer more effective employment support.
On May 13, consultations were held for 20 young people at the Seoul Workshop of the Youth Dadareum Project, and on June 11, for 20 young people at the Chungbuk Workshop. Consultations will continue sequentially through July for young people at regional workshops in areas such as Gyeongbuk, Siheung in Gyeonggi, and Jeonbuk.
The counseling is conducted on a one-on-one, customized basis by professional counselors, based on the results of the Worknet vocational psychological assessment from the Korea Employment Information Service. The combination of scientific assessment and the counselors’ field experience provides practical support for individual youth in career planning and strengthening their job-seeking capabilities.
The counseling covers a variety of topics, including: setting and refining individual career goals; providing information on jobs related to employment and entrepreneurship; consulting on how to write job applications; interview preparation and practical coaching; and detailed guidance on youth policies offered by central government ministries and local governments.
Park Juhee, Secretary-General of the Youth Foundation, stated, "This year, along with the nationwide expansion of the 'On-site Consultation' program, we aim to actively share the foundation’s 10 years of accumulated know-how and experience with local communities through regionally focused projects such as the 'Potential Growth Campus' for youth with borderline intelligence, which is being held in Busan, Gwangju, and Gyeonggi." She added, "We will continue to support the social entry and growth of local youth in the future."
Meanwhile, the "Youth Dadareum Project" operated by the foundation is a program that provides individually tailored support for young people in policy blind spots?including those preparing for self-reliance, youth caring for family members, and long-term unemployed youth?covering the entire process from career exploration to social settlement. This project, which began in March, is being run through November with a variety of programs, including psychological counseling, career planning, educational training, and work experience for young people.
