"Republic of Korea Ulsan Declaration Ceremony"... A Global Commitment by Archery Practitioners in Ulsan

Ulsan to Host "Republic of Korea Ulsan Declaration Ceremony" on June 12
International Cooperation for the Sustainable Development and Globalization of Archery Begins in Earnest

On June 12 at 11:00 a.m., the city of Ulsan will hold the "Republic of Korea Ulsan Declaration Ceremony" in the Convention Hall on the third floor of the Ulsan Exhibition and Convention Center, aiming for the sustainable development and globalization of archery.

This event is being organized in conjunction with the "2025 Korea Ulsan International Archery Academic Conference (Seminar)," which is taking place from June 10 to 13. More than 200 key guests and archery officials from 42 countries are expected to attend.

The theme of the declaration ceremony is "The Origin of the Bow, in Ulsan, Republic of Korea! Shoot Towards the World!" The program includes a commemorative address, congratulatory remarks, a reading of the Ulsan Declaration, and a signing ceremony.

During the event, archery experts and organization representatives from 42 countries will gather to share the values and future vision of archery. They will also adopt the "Republic of Korea Ulsan Declaration," a joint statement for sustainable development and globalization.

The "Republic of Korea Ulsan Declaration" outlines five key initiatives: ▲ Inheriting and developing archery as a valuable cultural heritage of humanity ▲ Establishing the World Archery Federation ▲ Fostering a World Archery Center and establishing its headquarters in Ulsan, Republic of Korea ▲ Institutionalizing the World Archery Championships ▲ Building an international cooperation system for the global preservation and promotion of archery.

This declaration is significant as it represents the first global commitment by the international community to protect and advance archery as a universal cultural heritage of humanity.

The subsequent signing ceremony, in which representatives from each country will sign in succession, is expected to become a symbolic moment of unity for archery practitioners worldwide.

After the declaration ceremony, a field tour program will be offered to participants, allowing them to experience Ulsan's historical and cultural assets firsthand.

Participants will visit the Bangudae Petroglyphs, known as the "origin of the bow," as well as Taehwagang National Garden, an ecological and cultural hub. Through these visits, they will experience Ulsan's cultural and ecological values and recognize its status as the birthplace of archery.

With this declaration, Ulsan is expected to firmly establish itself as a global hub of archery culture, while the Republic of Korea is anticipated to emerge as a leading nation in the globalization of archery.

Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom stated, "Ulsan is not only the origin of the bow, where the Bangudae Petroglyphs are located, but will also rise as the global center of archery culture. I hope today's declaration will serve as a new milestone for the future of archery."
