[Exclusive] Yoon Sunghyuk Appointed as New Secretary for Industrial Policy

The Office of the President has appointed Yoon Sunghyuk, Director of Advanced Industry Policy at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, as the new Secretary for Industrial Policy.

According to officials from the Office of the President, Director Yoon was appointed as the new Secretary for Industrial Policy on June 11, 2025. The Secretary for Industrial Policy operates under the Senior Secretary for Economic Growth and is responsible for facilitating communication and coordinating policies between the Office of the President and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

Director Yoon graduated from Seongnam High School and earned a degree in economics from Korea University. He also completed a master's degree in economics at Indiana State University in the United States.

He passed the 42nd Higher Civil Service Examination and has previously served as Director of Americas Cooperation, Director of Industrial Technology Market, Commercial Attach? at the Embassy of Korea in Australia, Director of Steel and Chemicals, Director of Shipbuilding and Offshore Plant, and Director of Industrial Policy.
